Lou Compton has been an ardent supporter of
bowhunting for many years. He SHA served as the
president of MBS for a decade now. At 54, Lou is
looking forward to many more years serving MBS and
protecting bowhunting. Lou is also the coordinator for
MD's NASP program. He has a passion for protecting
and passing along the rich bowhunting heritage. In
addition to the above roles Lou also serves as a
Commissioner on Maryland's Wildlife Advisory

I am 43 yrs old born and raised on the upper eastern
shore of MD. I have been hunting since 1976 and
started bowhunting in 1989.

I joined MBS in 1977, but let my membership lapse in
the mid 80’s. I rejoined as a life member in 1995 and
have been active since. I became Treasurer in March
of 2008. I have been bowhunting since I was 12 years
old. Today I would still rather bowhunt than anything
else!! I live on the same farm where I was born with
my wife Susan. We have 5 kids and 9 grandchildren.

I’m 46 years old. Born and raised in Maryland. I have
been addicted to bow hunting for 25 years. I have
been a member of MBS for 7 years. I hunt exclusively
with a bow and have been fortunate enough to bag a
lot of different critters. Although whitetails are my main
focus, I get away for an out of state adventure every
now and then. The other species I have hunted
include bear, elk and moose. I am very lucky to be
married to an understanding wife of 20+ years who
has supported/tolerated my infatuation with the bow
and arrow. I have two beautiful daughters ages 1 ½
and 3 ½.
