MARYLAND BOWHUNTERS SOCIETY DONATES $1000 TO FHFH TO ASSIST WITH DEER PROCESSING FEES

Baltimore, Md. 10/16/2008 - The Maryland Bowhunters Society (MBS) recently donated $1000 to Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry (FHFH), to defray the cost of processing deer donated by bowhunters participating in the new managed hunt at the Loch Raven Reservoir. FHFH is a Hagerstown-based ministry that coordinates the donation of tons of healthy venison to food banks and shelters each year. (www.FHFH.org) A managed hunt for deer using bowhunters was instituted at Loch Raven reservoir after years of no hunting to help correct the damage done to the watershed by the deer herd which has outgrown the ability of the habitat at the reservoir to support it.
